Akaroa Fishing Contest
An annual event where boats are usually launched at Duvauchelles and head out as far as the crew are brave. Depending on conditions and numbers, the weigh in is either on the water or back at the ramp where $100 in prize money is divided between places 1, 2 and 3 and a trophy is up for grabs for the first place person. Please note only one prize can be collected per family.
Lyttelton Proscreen Fishing Contest
An annual event very similar to Akaroa but held out of Lyttelton. Kaikoura "Halswell Electric" Fishing Contest
An annual event very similar to Akaroa and Lyttelton but held out of Kaikoura and generally a weekend event. Depending on conditions and numbers, the weigh in is either on the water or back at the ramp where $100 in prize money is divided between places 1, 2 and 3 and a trophy is up for grabs for the first place person. Omaka Christmas Picnic
The club provides games, a Santa, and presents for children under 12 years of age. Bring along a picnic lunch and have a great time. Games include 3 legged races, egg & spoon races, egg throwing, fishing for bolts from the bridge with magnets and much more.
