14 September Motanau Fishing. (Bruce Rathgen)
Departing from the ramp at the Sumner Life Boat base you will travel approx 75 minutes north towards Motanau with the some "supposedly" good GPS coordinates. Contact Bruce Rathgen for event details and to register.
Well, it was a great day which is about the best that could be said, with the only fish kept being a red cod. Plenty of dogfish caught but the blue cod proved elusive, with none caught. Better luck next time guys.
28 September Akaroa Deep Sea Fishing and Annual Trophy Event (Steve Conway)
Departing Duvauchelles ramp at 7-00 am, To register contact Steve on 021 642 046 or 387 0920 or email steve@okay.co.nz. We have some great GPS coordinates with the fishing ground 16 - 18 km off the Akaroa Heads. 50 cm Blue cod and school groper are the target. Combining an opportunity for deep sea fishing and the annual Akaroa Fishing competition. Departing from Duvauchelles the intention is to venture out to the hole, those not wishing to venture this far are free to fish anywhere and still be in with a chance for a prize. This prize was taken out a few years ago with a 7 gill shark caught well inside the harbour so going well out is no guarantee.
Postponed due to weather- This event will be rescheduled for the new year
12 October Lyttelton Proscreen Fishing

Venue and time to be confirmed, but bring a picnic and make a day of it.
